On the sidelines of the Danube Institute event, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), H.E. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, took part in a wide-ranging podcast interview hosted by the Danube Institute on 30 April 2025. The conversation offered valuable insights into the OTS’s growing relevance in today’s increasingly multipolar global landscape.
During the interview, Secretary General Omuraliev spoke in depth about the evolving role of the OTS as a dynamic platform for regional cooperation and integration among Turkic nations. He emphasized the organization’s broadening agenda, highlighting key sectors such as energy, transport, education, and agriculture—areas that are rapidly becoming central to the OTS’s strategic priorities.
By fostering deeper collaboration across these fields, the OTS aims to contribute to sustainable development, connectivity, and knowledge exchange among its member and observer states.
Secretary General Omuraliev also reflected on Hungary’s strategic involvement in the organization. As an observer state, Hungary holds a unique and increasingly significant role as a bridge between the Turkic world and the European Union. He noted that Hungary’s active engagement not only enhances the dialogue between cultures and regions but also supports the OTS’s vision of strengthening ties with European partners through mutual interests and shared values.
